French bistro — Yountville and Beverly Hills

    Bouchon Bistro — Complete Guide

Bouchon is Keller's French bistro: onion soup, steak frites, roast chicken, a raw bar and a room designed by Adam Tihany to look like it has been in Yountville for a century. It is the most accessible way to eat Keller's food, and it serves lunch as well as dinner.

    What to order

The bistro classics are the point. Poulet rôti, steak frites with maître d'hôtel butter, moules au safran, quiche, and a raw bar of oysters and shellfish plateaux. The fries are cooked in the same kitchen discipline as everything else in the group, which is why they get talked about.

Bouchon serves continuously through the afternoon, which makes it useful in a wine-tasting itinerary where lunch and dinner rarely land at conventional times.

    Booking and walk-ins

Bouchon takes standard reservations a month or so out and keeps bar and counter seating for walk-ins. Unlike The French Laundry, there is no prepaid ticket and no jacket requirement.

Weekend lunch fills first because it is the default stop between morning and afternoon tastings. A weekday dinner is usually bookable within a few days.
