What to Order at Bouchon Bistro

Bouchon is where the group's technique meets food you actually want to eat twice a week. The menu is a fixed set of French bistro classics, executed with the discipline of the kitchens up the street.

    The dishes that matter

Poulet rôti for two is the benchmark order: brined, roasted, carved and served with the pan juices. Steak frites with maître d'hôtel butter is the other default, and the fries deserve their reputation.

Soupe à l'oignon, moules au safran, quiche and a plateau from the raw bar cover the rest of the canon. Desserts stay classic: profiteroles, crème caramel, tarte aux pommes.

    When to go

Service runs continuously, so a 3pm lunch between wine tastings is entirely normal and the room is at its calmest. Weekend lunch is the busiest slot of the week.

The bar takes walk-ins and is the fastest route to a table without a booking, particularly for parties of one or two.
