The single best decision around a Yountville dinner is not to drive to it. The village is small, the restaurants sit within a few blocks of one another, and the hotels are all walkable.

Washington Street runs the length of the town and everything worth eating is on or just off it. From any hotel in the village, every restaurant in the group is a walk of a few minutes.
That matters because of wine. A tasting menu with pairings is not compatible with driving over the valley afterwards, and taxis in Napa are neither plentiful nor cheap late at night.
Napa city is fifteen minutes south with a wider price range and more availability; St Helena is fifteen minutes north and closer to the upper-valley wineries. Both require a car or a driver for dinner.
In harvest season, book accommodation before booking restaurants — rooms in the village sell out earlier than tables do.
